In your role as a Certified Patient Care Assistant in the Progressive Care Unit at Banner Estrella Medical Center, you will help provide basic nursing assistance to PCU patients. PCU 2A - Neuro Progressive Care Unit - PCU: This is a 36 bed Neuro Progressive Care Unit, that serves patients with medically complex needs (Stroke patients, TIAs, CVAs). PCU 3A - Cardiac Progressive Care Unit - PCU: This is a 24 bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit that serves a variety of cardiac, pulmonary, renal, post-surgical, and post-procedure patients. The vast-majority of the patients in the PCU require continuous cardiac monitoring. PCU 3D - General/Respiratory Progressive Care Unit - PCU: This is a 24 Bed General/Respiratory Progressive Care Unit unit that serves Respiratory, Sepsis, Cardiac Drips, Surgical Telemetry, CAPD (Peritoneal Dialysis) patients. PCU 4CD - Overflow Progressive Care Unit - PCU: This is a 36 bed overflow Progressive Care Unit unit that serves patients with medically complex needs. This unit sees a variety of cardiac, pulmonary, renal, post-surgical, and post-procedure patients. PCU 5CD - General Progressive Care Unit This is a 24 bed General Progressive Care Unit that serves a variety of patient populations who require continuous telemetry monitoring. We care for diagnoses such as respiratory issues, renal issues, cardiac issues, alcohol/drug withdrawal and infections. You will care for a wide variety of patients, such as vascular, cardio-thoracic surgical, heart failure, Neuro and respiratory. Our model supports learning at all levels, and is truly a collaborative environment between nursing, physicians, and other therapies. Duties can vary from vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate), assisting with patient hygiene and movement, and generally monitoring the patient and providing updates to clinical staff. FULL-TIME Night Shifts Available (3 -12 hour shifts a week from 6:00pm-6:30am) You can utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. There are no set days you can be scheduled each week. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
