As a Patient Care Assistant in this department, you will support Acute Care (Med/Surg and PCU). You will work in both our 15-bed private room unit as well as our 29-bed semi-private room unit utilizing your knowledge, judgment, and assistant nursing skills to assess data, plan and provide high quality, safe and efficient care for our patients. The patients cared for on these units have a variety of medical conditions that allow PCA’S to continually grown in their abilities. Whether a patient who is post-surgical or one who is battling a COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, pancreatitis, renal failure or hypoxia; you will have the opportunity to drive their plan of care and maximize your growing assistant nursing practice. You may also float to other units in the hospital, as needed. Part-time (2 day - 12 hr.), DAY shift position Shift hours: 7am-7:30pm You can utilize our self-scheduling tool for shift and weekend coverage. There are no set days you can be scheduled each week Weekend Rotations are required in this role Rotating Holidays Required Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night Shift differential when applicable Banner Del E. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.
