About The Position

The Certified Packaging Team Member is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of a variety of packaging and processing equipment used in food manufacturing. Key responsibilities include operating and monitoring filler equipment to accurately dispense products into bottles, jars, or other containers; overseeing casepacker operations to ensure proper packing, labeling, and palletizing of finished goods; and managing box-making equipment to prepare and supply quality packaging materials. In addition, this role provides utility support across production lines, assisting with changeovers, material handling, sanitation, and other tasks as needed to maintain smooth operations. The position requires adherence to strict food safety and quality standards, while promoting efficiency, minimizing downtime, and supporting overall team performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Successful validation on position or machine after initial training and at required intervals.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Dependable and reliable with the maturity to handle equipment safely and sensibly.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment across all lines and positions, including changeovers.
  • Willingness to work mandatory overtime, including weekends, as determined by business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in manufacturing, distribution, and working with manufacturing equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor packaging and processing equipment.
  • Perform timely and accurate changeovers and minor maintenance of equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect products for label accuracy, cap integrity, shrink wrap condition, code legibility, and proper pack count.
  • Ability to operate at least three (3) of the processing machines and/or perform three (3) of the various jobs in the operating area.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation, including production schedules, quality checks, downtime, housekeeping, and work orders.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and Supervisors regarding material inventories and production issues.
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies.
  • Monitor line for broken packaging, defective bottles, missing caps, or other product irregularities.
  • Dispose of trash, monitor hold areas, and manage special order requests or same-day shipments.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
