This is a per diem position several days per week and 1-2 weekend days per month; shorter days. Job Summary This is a per diem position at WDH in Dover, NH. Several days during the week and 1-2 weekend days per month; shorter weekend days. The primary purpose of your job is to assist occupational therapists in administering services in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, regulations, policies, and procedures as directed to assure that the highest degree of quality care and safety can be maintained.Does this position require Patient Care?Yes Essential Functions -Administers occupational therapy treatments to referred patients in inpatient, outpatient, and long term care settings under the direction of an occupational therapist. -Treatments include but are not limited to: passive, active, active-assisted, and resisted range of motion strengthening, self care, home management retraining, transfer training, cognitive therapy, therapeutic activities, & manual therapy. -Measures joint ROM, strength, circumference, of body parts, and vital signs as indicated. -Meets regularly with Rehabilitation staff to update therapy programs and assess effectiveness. -Assists in daily upkeep of physical environment, linen, and equipment maintenance. -Maintains progress notes in patient records as indicated. -Maintains necessary department statistics. -Assists Receptionist with charge slips, updating patient numbers monthly, diagnoses, as necessary in the absence of a receptionist. -Ensures business office receives charges for rehabilitation services rendered. -Reviews rehabilitation department policies, procedures, manuals, and job description as least annually. -Able to treat all age groups, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. -Maintains patient confidentiality. -Is alert for patient safety at all times. -Continually monitors the condition of equipment. -Communicates patient status, goals, and treatment plans with all other relevant disciplines and staff members. -Demonstrates competence in basic knowledge and application of clinical skills. -Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to assume additional responsibility.
