About The Position

A healthcare facility in Syracuse, NY is seeking an experienced Certified OR Tech / Surgical Technologist (CST) to support surgical services by maintaining a safe, sterile operating environment and assisting the surgical team throughout procedures.

Requirements

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
• Experience working in an operating room or surgical services setting
• Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical instrumentation
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up the operating room prior to surgical procedures
• Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly sterilized
• Stock and organize surgical supplies and instruments
• Maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgical cases
• Assist surgeons and surgical team by passing instruments and supplies
• Perform and document surgical counts (sponges, instruments, sharps)
• Prepare patients for surgery, including skin preparation and draping
• Anticipate surgeon and procedural needs to ensure workflow efficiency
• Monitor and maintain the sterile field before, during, and after surgery
• Assist with room turnover and post-procedure cleanup
• Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
