Certified Ophthalmic Technician provides support to an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist. You will get patient history and update medications and medical procedures. Before the physician exam, you will perform testing including visual acuity, pupillary and muscle evaluation, IOP measurement, visual field testing, OCT, Pentacam and refractions. You also will help the physician in minor office surgery, laser procedures or intraocular injections. In the office, you may work at the front desk and greet patients and visitors, answer phones and make appointments. Following appointments, you will follow up with pharmacies with renewals and prior authorizations as instructed by the physician.
