About The Position

About Corewell Health Taylor Hospital Corwell Health Taylor Hospital is a 148-bed hospital that is a recognized health care leader in the metro Detroit area. Proudly serving Taylor and surrounding communities since 1977, it offers specialty services including 24-hour emergency care, wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a surgical pavilion, a pain management clinic, orthopedic surgery, inpatient rehabilitation facility and full-service radiology, including advanced CT w/cardiac scoring, Fixed MRI including pacemaker, cinema vision and ultrasound (MSK & elastography). Scope of Work Under the supervision of the OTR, the COTA implements treatment programs for patients with physical, cognitive, or psychosocial dysfunction. The individual in this position is required to appropriately interact with all patients regardless of age or culture and to adhere to the Beaumont customer service standards. Documents patient treatment according to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and professional standards of documentation. Submits charges for services provided. Maintains verbal, electronic and written communication with treatment team, including supervising OTR for purposes of goal setting, active problem-solving, treatment and discharge planning. Communicates observations of patient’s conditions and reactions to treatment.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university occupational therapy assistant program.
  • CRT-Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified (COTA) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certified or eligible Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association preferred Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross preferred
  • Familiar with industrial rehab and ergonomics preferred.
