The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to a diverse community-based caseload under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Requirements

  • Graduate of State Board approved program for Occupational Therapy Assistants
  • Licensed, registered, or certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the state(s) where providing services
  • ICM Certification
  • Valid licensed driver with automobile insurance in accordance with state(s) and/or organizational requirements.
  • Mandatory Reporter: Child & Dependent Adult Abuse.
  • Maintain a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Card with Re-certification.
  • Minimum CNA 75 hour
  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to care plan. Uses equipment and supplies safely, effectively, and efficiently.
  • Consistently utilizes a patient-centered approach considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned service area.
  • Treats patients/clients to relieve pain, develop or restore function and maintain maximum performance using specified occupational therapy procedures.
  • Directs and aids patients/clients in plan of treatment.
  • Delivers quality care consistent with Home Health Conditions of Participation, qualifying home care criteria, payor coverage criteria, and providing visits/treatments consistent with the plan of care.
