Look at the details below for the position. JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at a senior living facility. The COTA will work closely with our occupational therapist to provide comprehensive therapy services to our residents. The ideal candidate will have experience working with older adults and a passion for improving their quality of life.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • State licensure as a COTA
  • Prior experience working with older adults, preferably in a senior living setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans developed by the occupational therapist to help residents achieve their goals
  • Work with residents to improve their daily living skills, such as dressing, grooming, and feeding
  • Assist with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination
  • Monitor and document resident progress in the electronic medical record system
  • Communicate with the occupational therapist and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care
  • Provide education to residents and their families on how to continue therapy exercises and activities at home
