Orthopedic Specialists of SW Florida’s state-of-the-art, 60,000 square-foot facility incorporates the latest in leading-edge technology in order to provide optimal care for patients who have bone, joint, muscle and spine problems. Our office includes a full Physical Therapy and Occupational/Hand Therapy division, which work in close coordination with our physicians to provide non-operative, preoperative, post-operative and preventive care. Job Summary: To treat and assist patients of all ages and abilities in an orthopedic treatment center. Essential Functions: Occupational Therapy Assistants work under the supervision of occupational therapists. They use physical treatment procedures to help improve mobility and relieve pain and disability caused by disease or injury. Assistants have other duties that give occupational therapists more time to put their special training to use. Assistants may do some office work, for example, or they may get equipment ready for the therapist. They may also prepare a patient for a therapy session. Occupational Therapy Assistants must care for the patients along with excelling at obtaining information, establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships, making decisions and solving problems, performing general physical activities, communicating with fellow personnel and the patients, and organizing and prioritizing work. Core Competences: Responsible for promoting the Standards of Excellence for Orthopedic Specialists demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior toward patients, visitors, volunteers, peers and physicians. Maintains a neat and orderly work environment, demonstrates the ability to organize and prioritize work during heavy workload situations to expedite patient care. Maintain strictest confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA compliance. Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments. Work independently while understanding the need to communicate and coordinate work efforts with other employees and organizations.
