About The Position

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (PRN) Essential Duties as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA): Under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, assists in evaluation and development of the rehabilitative plan of care and in periodic re-evaluation as indicated Performs routine strengthening and therapeutic exercises. Assists in teaching exercise programs to client and family. Writes daily progress notes on clients and submits. Confirms, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Supervisor/DON Consults with the Therapist regarding outcome of home visits and reports physical findings in written form. Assists client in use of self-help devices. Participates in therapy and other in-service programs. Attends rehabilitation department staff meetings and case conferences. Assumes duties deemed appropriate and necessary by the supervising Occupational Therapist Communicates effectively with all those performing care. Notifies agency of absences due to illness, emergency leave, normal vacation periods, or special professional meetings which will affect agreed services with the Agency

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Registration/certificate in the state
  • 1-2 years' experience as a COTA
  • Lives within close driving distance of the Gibsonia/Valencia areas.
