About The Position

Skills on the Hill is a leading pediatric therapy practice with clinics in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, VA, dedicated to empowering children and families to climb higher every day. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will be a glimmer of hope for children facing developmental or functional challenges, helping them reach their fullest potential through play, movement, and creativity. You will work in playful, well-equipped spaces with access to cutting-edge tools and sensory-rich environments, collaborating with a league of extraordinary therapists and a supportive admin team.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • Active DC and Virginia COTA license (or eligibility to obtain required).
  • At least 1 year of pediatric experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are welcome to apply.
  • Experience supporting children with developmental delays, sensory processing differences, fine/visual motor, and self-regulation challenges preferred.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based pediatric practices and a willingness to learn under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, organization, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while following established treatment plans.
  • Proficient with technology, including Microsoft Office, EMR systems, and iPads.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Negative TB test and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, play-based therapy sessions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Support treatment goals and implement individualized therapy plans that help children succeed at home, school, and in the community.
  • Track progress, document sessions, and share updates with the therapy team and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with OTs and other professionals to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and motivating therapy environment that sparks growth and confidence.
