About The Position

SSM Health Rehabilitation- Acute Care DePaul Hospital Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) - Full-Time The DePaul Ministry of SSM Health is accredited by The Joint Commission as a Center of Excellence for Total Joint Replacement and a Comprehensive Center of Excellence for Stroke. We are a Level II trauma center and a Level I STEMI center serving the north and northwest St Louis County area in Missouri and our neighbors to the east in Illinois. Our diverse and progressive therapy department participates in research and program advancement throughout the 450 bed hospital. Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in a OT Assistant program required.
  • Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification

Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of a licensed OT, assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care.
  • Responsible for delegation and direction of supportive personnel for those assigned patients, in order to enhance patient care services.
  • Consistently communicates with supervising OT in regard to scheduled patients to ensure identification of need for assessment and reassessment of patients, modification of treatment plans and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
  • Participates in education of patients, families, students, coworkers and self.
  • Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice.
