About The Position

Missouri Baptist has an opening for a full-time COTA to work in an acute care setting. Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center , an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children's Hospital. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides skilled treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician and directed by a licensed occupational therapist as specified in their health care service setting.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree - OT Assistant
  • No Experience
  • COTA

Responsibilities

  • Implements treatment plan as developed by the licensed occupational therapist.
  • Collaborates with the licensed occupational therapist on an agreed upon frequency to assess and reassess patient's plan of care, treatment goals and interventions.
  • Documents patient progress in daily notes and weekly notes (as applicable), as well as contributes recommendations to patient's discharge note from occupational therapy
  • Reports on interventions and patient progress during assigned meetings and contributes to the screening and evaluation process.
  • Assists with guidance for clinical fieldwork students under the supervision of the licensed occupational therapist.
