About The Position

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Occupational Therapists to deliver patient-centered care, empowering individuals to regain their independence and improve their overall quality of life.

Requirements

  • Active and valid COTA license.
  • Current certification in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance are required for travel to patient locations.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion and patience while working with diverse populations.
  • A strong dedication to providing high-quality patient care and improving patient outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or familiarity with various settings, including outpatient care, geriatrics, skilled nursing facilities, inpatient care, or home health is preferred.
  • Familiarity with occupational health practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform therapy visits and work directly with the supervising Occupational Therapist to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide hands-on, patient-centered occupational therapy services in alignment with the therapist’s plan of care.
  • Travel to various facilities or residential locations to provide therapy services, ensuring patients receive consistent and high-quality care.
  • Conduct follow-up visits and maintain accurate, up-to-date records of patient progress using a universal electronic documentation system.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of therapy programs targeting: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Functional mobility Range of motion & strength Coordination & cognitive/perceptual remediation Functional maintenance programs
  • Maintain a weekly caseload of 28-32 visits (for full-time), ensuring efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Foster positive, supportive relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and community personnel, ensuring a collaborative and empathetic approach to care.
