Requirements

  • Current, valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) License in the state of California.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for geriatric rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct Resident Care: Deliver high-quality therapeutic treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist (OTR) to help residents master Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
  • Clinical Excellence: Ensure all treatments align strictly with physician-approved plans and document daily progress with precision in accordance with the OT Board State Practice Act.
  • Interdisciplinary Support: Assist in training Restorative Aides and provide in-service education to facility staff to ensure a 24/7 rehabilitative environment.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with the OTR, nursing staff, and families regarding patient progress, goals, and challenges.
  • Discharge Readiness: Educate families and caregivers on maintenance programs and functional strategies to ensure a safe and successful transition home.
  • Professionalism: Build positive, respectful relationships with residents and colleagues while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient therapy environment.
