About The Position

Atrium Health Union and Atrium Health Union West offer comprehensive rehabilitation services supporting patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. Occupational therapy is provided with a focus on functional independence, safety, and return to daily activities. Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants work as part of a collaborative, patient‑centered rehab team delivering high‑quality care. This position is based at Atrium Health Union, and may float to Atrium Health Union West.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant required.
  • applicable state license for Occupational Therapy Assistant required.
  • Possess and maintain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in performing patient care responsibilities under the plan and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Implements the occupational therapy treatment plan in accordance to the plan of care established by the occupational therapist.
  • Collaborates with the occupational therapist in modifying treatment as the patient's status changes.
  • Applies modalities under the direction of an occupational therapist.
  • Provides and documents patient and family education in regard to deficits, progress toward goals and therapeutic techniques
  • Shares in responsibility for maintenance of a clean and orderly department.
  • May be required to provide coverage as needed throughout facilities in accordance with clinical competencies.
