About The Position

UC Health is hiring a PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for the Rehab Service's department for the first shift at UC Hoxworth. The COTA will implement occupational therapy treatment programs for referred patients under the general supervision of a registered and licensed occupational therapist, following organizational and department approved policies related to documentation, attendance, education, etc.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Applied Science from an AOTA approved curriculum
• Certified by the AOTA as an occupational therapy assistant
• Licensed in the State of Ohio as an occupational therapy assistant
• Certified in CPR

Responsibilities

• Provides population-appropriate care by recognizing developmental milestones, physical limitations, behavioral health needs, and cultural considerations, while ensuring safe treatment practices.
• Implements and adjusts treatment plans in collaboration with occupational therapists, using evidence-based techniques and educating patients and families on adaptive equipment, exercises, and discharge planning.
• Maintains high standards in documentation and compliance, consistently meeting benchmarks for chart audits and regulatory requirements.
• Actively participates in performance improvement initiatives, mentoring, and continuing education to enhance clinical competencies and team collaboration.
• Demonstrates professionalism in department operations, communication, and availability, contributing to a positive work environment and efficient patient care delivery.
• Collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth transitions between levels of care and accurate communication of patient status.
• Supports department goals by managing time efficiently, maintaining inventory, and contributing to cost containment efforts.
