About The Position

Select Physical Therapy in Carrollwood is seeking per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) with a minimum of one year of experience in hand therapy for as-needed coverage in our outpatient location. New graduates who have completed a recent hand clinical with Select Medical are also encouraged to apply. The position involves treating various upper extremity disorders, including tendon injuries, sprains, strains, and post-operative fractures. The clinic is equipped to provide care to patients ranging from post-surgical to non-operative cases, and you will work closely with a team of Certified Hand Therapists (CHTs) and excellent hand surgeons in a supportive environment.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an ACOTA accredited occupational therapy assistant (OTA) program.
• National registration and state COTA licensure or registration REQUIRED.
• Must have previous 1 year experience working with hand therapy patients.
• In lieu of experience, COTA new graduates who completed recent fieldwork with Select Physical Therapy are eligible.
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Optimize the functional abilities and skills of patients under the direction of the licensed occupational therapist.
• Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
• Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care services.
• Observe, note, and report on the progress of long and short-term treatment goals.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient care.
• Maintain professional standards through compliance with quality assurance policies/procedures as well as applicable regulations and corporate policies.
