About the position

To assist in the delivery of Occupational Therapy services in direct patient care and departmental upkeep in coordination with the rehabilitation team and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agencies. Performs Occupational Therapy procedures as delegated by an Occupational Therapist and under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to treat adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with physical disease or injury and assesses and reports patients progress in obtaining maximum function. Must perform in accordance with established Occupational Therapist Assistant guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of Occupational Therapy services in direct patient care.

  • Perform Occupational Therapy procedures as delegated by an Occupational Therapist.
  • Treat adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with physical disease or injury.
  • Assess and report patients' progress in obtaining maximum function.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalent education.
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program approved by ACOTE or predecessor organization.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current practice in the field of Occupational Therapy.
  • Demonstrate mature and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with the Occupational Therapist and the health care team.
