Your primary role is to work collaboratively with your team to provide direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy to residents upon physician referral as well as to adequately plan for resident needs. Requirements

  • You will be able to demonstrate composure, customer focus, patience, and the ability to gain trust and establish rapport with residents and your team.
  • One year's experience in long-term care or related setting preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapy Assistant Program per AOTA & ACOTE standards
  • Initial certification obtained from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
  • Currently licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state of Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Test and evaluate physical and mental abilities of residents and guests
  • Analyze relevant medical information to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals
  • Consult with rehabilitation team to choose effective activity program
  • Coordinate occupational therapy with other types of therapeutic activities
  • Maintain accurate treatment records
  • Assist in educating guests with home exercise programs and use of equipment
  • Participate in education and staff development courses
