About The Position

Presbyterian Hospital Downtown is seeking dedicated Certified Occupational Therapists (COTA) to join their patient-focused care team. In this role, individuals will help patients regain independence, improve daily living skills, and achieve meaningful recovery through personalized therapy plans. Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Occupational Therapists Assistant
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Licensure from the State of New Mexico
  • BLS REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE

Responsibilities

  • Works under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to apply a range of therapeutic interventions aimed at rehabilitating physical, psycho-social, and developmental disorders.
  • Requires detailed knowledge of occupational therapy practices, including understanding not only how tasks are performed but also why they are necessary, with the ability to interpret relevant data.
  • Must have a basic understanding of the rules and regulations specific to the care setting to ensure safe and effective patient support.
  • Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, applies a variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical, psycho-social, and developmental disorders.
  • Requires detailed knowledge of occupational therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, this level includes interpretation of data.
  • Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting.
