The Staff Occupational Therapist Assistant supports the Occupational Therapist with patient-related activities and provides direct patient care to help residents achieve their highest level of function. Responsibilities
- Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist and implement physician-approved treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate records, including daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes, in compliance with OT Board and payer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding patient progress; assist nursing by training Restorative Aides.
- Provide caregiver training and educate families or nursing staff on maintenance programs to prepare patients for discharge.
- Actively participate in discharge planning and transition care.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, safe treatment area and report any equipment issues promptly.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure high-quality care delivery.
