About The Position

We are looking for a FULL TIME COTA, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. The role involves treating patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist, recording daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board, and treating patients per the physician treatment plan. The COTA will assist the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides and communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participation in in-service training programs for other staff in the facility is also required. The COTA will record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, recertification documentation, and treatment changes per policy and procedures. Instructing patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services is part of the job. The COTA will also assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area and report any problems with department equipment.

Requirements

  • Valid Occupational Therapist Assistant - License

Responsibilities

  • Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, recertification documentation per Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements.
  • Record treatment changes per policy and procedures.
  • Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services.
  • Participate in discharge planning.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
  • Report any problems with department equipment.
