As the Certified OB Surgical Technologist, you will be an active member of the team in the Operating Room. You will function under the direct supervision of the OR nurse. You willâ¯be responsible forâ¯the sterile field, instrumentation, sterile technique, and other tasksâ¯requiredâ¯during the procedure. Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. Weprovidea full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We havea 24/7 Emergency Department.This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatalnursesand respiratory therapists.These staff are on site at all times.Visit us for excellent general and OB care! Requirements

Graduate of an accredited Surgical Tech Program or equivalent training.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist required.
Surgical technologist students may be hired prior to graduation (within 3 months of graduation). Upon graduation, verification of completion of requirements will be verified. Failure to complete graduation requirements can result in termination of the position.
Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration overâ¯long periodsâ¯of time.
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 25 pounds
BLS certification (new employees have up toâ¯90 daysâ¯from date of hire to obtain the American Heart Association BLS for healthcare providers)

Responsibilities

You willâ¯demonstrateâ¯knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
You will promote customer service initiatives.
You will function as scrub person during operative procedures.
You willâ¯demonstrateâ¯abilityâ¯to perform technical skills and procedures.
You willâ¯assistâ¯in the intra-operative care of the patient by performing technical duties as assigned
You will deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
