About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides restorative nursing care for residents under the direction of the Nursing and/or Rehab staff to maximize and maintain the physical functioning and emotional wellness of the residents. The Certified Nursing Assistant acts as an extender to Nurses, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapist and/or Speech Therapists, performing nursing and/or rehab procedures and resident care tasks within scope of competence and in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification
  • Previous experience providing activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs and caring for the physical and emotional needs of patients
  • Previous experience using a personnel computer, keyboard and mouse
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in a long-term care setting

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct hands-on treatment under the guidance and supervision of licensed nursing and/or rehab staff and in compliance with hospital policy of unlicensed staff.
  • Maintains a safe and resident friendly environment of care.
  • Resident equipment and materials are kept in good repair.
  • Maintains residents’ personal items and environment to optimize care and safety.
  • Reports to licensed nurse and/or rehab therapists any changes in condition or concerns regarding residents and seeks assistance as needed.
  • Participates in department and team projects as directed.
  • Performs duties within scope of certified nursing assistant role.
