About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct resident care and supports nursing and clinical staff in maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment. The Nursing Assistant assists with monitoring residents, supporting activities of daily living, and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of basic healthcare practices
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries
Nice To Haves
- Experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment preferred
- Crisis management skills preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Monitor resident behavior and report changes to nursing staff
- Assist with vital signs as directed
- Support medication observation as allowed by policy
- Document observations accurately and timely
- Assist with admissions and orientation
- Maintain resident safety and supervision
- Conduct room and safety checks
- Assist with transportation as assigned
- Support infection control practices
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Assist with crisis intervention as directed
- Participate in team communication and shift handoff
- Observe self-administration of medications per policy
- Report medication concerns to licensed staff
- Monitor for side effects or adverse reactions
- Document medication observations when required
- Conduct routine resident checks
- Maintain clean and safe environment
- Report hazards immediately
- Follow infection control procedures
- Participate in emergency response
- Complete shift notes
- Document behavioral observations
- Record safety checks
- Assist with incident documentation
