The individual assigned to this position is responsible for performing prescribed care and treatment of patients under the direction of professional nursing staff and transportation for all off campus medical appointments. Perform simple nursing measures. Follow established performance standards and perform duties according to nursing service policies and procedures and observe all facility safety, infection control policy and procedures. Provide the necessary assistance to residents for daily living nursing care activities. Assist in obtaining urine, blood, and other specimens. Respond to residents’ needs promptly and report concerns and observations to supervisor. The individual assigned to this position is responsible for transportation and loading and unloading of residents. Responsible for vehicle inspections before the end of their shift. Participate in emergency response on campus including but not limited to driving an emergency vehicle. Assist medical and nursing personnel during minor surgical procedures, and specialty clinics. Assist in maintaining and stocking inventory of medical, nursing, and central supplies. Perform all other related duties as directed by immediate supervisor or designee, including training. This position may be required to perform essential services before, during, and after an emergency per APD OP 2-0035. This position is critical to the safety and supervision of residents and may require the incumbent to work beyond their normal work schedule to maintain minimum coverage levels in the facility.
