What Certified Nursing Assistant contributes to Cardinal Health Nursing is responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient quality nursing care. Examines patients and administers prescribed medications to facilitate healing and increase comfort. Nursing requires training and or licensed to care for patients. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) deliver basic patient care, such as taking vital signs, under the supervision of a licensed professional in an outpatient infusion setting at Rocky Mountain Oncology Center. They are also responsible for assisting with clerical work including, but not limited to, ordering medications and medical supplies, updating patient charts prior to scheduled appointments, and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Register new patients Take vital signs Update medical records Sterilize / prepare medical instruments Disposal of contaminated supplies Follow up on patient calls May assist with verifying health insurance coverage, and other clerical duties Regular attendance and punctuality Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Ensures that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved Perform any other functions as required by management What is expected of you and others at this level Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete standard tasks Works on routine assignments that require basic problem resolution Refers to policies and past practices for guidance Receives general direction on standard work; receives detailed instruction on new assignments Consults with supervisor or senior peers on complex and unusual problems
