About The Position

Join the vibrant, compassionate team at The Colonnade in Surprise Park, AZ, as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This role involves providing direct patient care under the direction of nursing staff, including duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, moving patients, or changing linens, and may also involve transferring or transporting patients. The position offers 8-hour shifts on a PRN (as needed) basis and includes a $500.00 sign-on bonus for PRN staff. Requirements

  • CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain
  • Certified Nurse Assistant
  • AZ Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • When arriving on duty, check assignment, schedule, note any special events scheduled for that day and extra duties specific to the shift and section you are working
  • Do assigned duties as they fit into the day's schedule
  • Answer call lights as needed
  • Do vital signs as indicated and when requested
  • Assist at meal times according to schedule
  • Chart required information
  • Attend Staff and In-Service Meetings. Each CNA must attend the required In-Services annually
  • Assist in, and/or perform, responsibilities connected with admissions, transfers and discharges
  • Use aseptic technique in all care of residents to prevent spread of disease and infection
  • Observe residents' physical condition, emotions, reactions to events, eating and report any and all changes to the Charge Nurse
  • Maintain and renew certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Demonstrate the Sun Health Mission and Values
  • Assist with residents at activities (P.M. Shift)
  • Assist resident with pre-meal preparation before dinner (P.M. Shift)
  • Assist or feed at meals according to resident's needs (P.M. Shift)
  • Bathe residents according to schedule (P.M. Shift)
  • Nail care to be performed weekly or as needed (P.M. Shift)
  • Do oral care including dentures, take to the bathroom and assist as necessary (P.M. Shift)
  • Assist in undressing and getting into night clothes. Remember part of rehabilitation nursing is to have the resident do as much as possible for themselves (P.M. Shift)
  • Fix hair according to resident's preference or as appropriate for bedtime (P.M. Shift)
  • Assist into bed, make sure the call light is within reach and give fresh water. Make hourly rounds on all residents after they are in bed (P.M. Shift)
  • Empty the trash and remove soiled clothing (P.M. Shift)
  • Check residents every 2 hours (Night Shift)
  • Incontinent residents should be checked, cleaned, and/or taken to the bathroom (Night Shift)
  • Residents physically incapable of turning themselves should be turned no less than every two (2) hours (Night Shift)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse (Night Shift)
  • Wash wheelchairs weekly as assigned (Night Shift)
  • Clean soiled equipment found in the dirty utility room every night (Night Shift)
