About The Position

Performs basic and routine patient care, such as personal hygiene, toileting, meal preparation and feeding, checks vital signs, intake/output, ambulation and assists patient with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the PACE center or in the home. New hires with existing state CNA must be in good standing. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a state approved Nursing Assistant program/Trade School program (Required)
  • CNA active in Virginia (required)
  • BLS within 90 days (required)

Responsibilities

  • Patient care, support independent and dependent activities of daily living
  • Vital signs, mobility and ambulation
  • Phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal
  • Comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse
  • Observe patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and document in a timely and accurate manner
