About The Position

This position is benefit eligible. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for providing direct patient nursing care services under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, RN, or NT/LPN. The CNA organizes the aspects of care which has been delegated to support the RN in efficiently meeting patient needs. The CNA is expected to care for patients in all departments of the hospital (Med-Surg, OB and ED) when needed. Typical Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6PM-6AM, every third weekend/holiday rotation

Requirements

• CNA with current Wisconsin Certification or the ability to obtain.
• BLS certified.
• Perform essential functions of a Certified Nursing Assistant
• Effectively participate in the interdisciplinary care team
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, family members, and co-workers.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer 1 year Med/Surg or hospital experience.
• Perform additional duties on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Assists the nurse to carry out the nursing process to deliver the highest quality nursing care.
• As a patient advocate, he/she coordinates the care of the patient through collaboration with the nursing team.
• The CNA provides daily patient cares, activities, and other tasks as delegated by the nursing staff.
• He/she monitors and interacts frequently with all patient service departments; utilizes interdisciplinary input to plan, implement and evaluate care.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope of CNA practice.
• Participate in the orientation process of new staff.
• Seek out learning/educational opportunities to increase knowledge in job responsibilities.
