About The Position

Sheridan Community Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to our close-knit rural community. Our team values personalized care, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence. We are seeking a caring, dependable Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our patient-centered team. The CNA provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Duties include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring vital signs, supporting patient mobility, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant
  • Must have BLS or willing to obtain within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of fundamental direct patient care and environmental procedures under the supervision of the RN in both Emergency Department and Medical –Surgical Department based on department census/patient acuity.
  • Performs a variety of clerical duties involved in preparing, maintaining, and processing patient, unit(s) and hospital data and records to include operating the organization’s patient care information systems.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned:
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assisting patients with tasks such as bathing, dressing, eating, and toileting.
  • Patient Monitoring: Observing and reporting changes in patient condition, including pain, skin integrity.
  • Mobility and Transfer: Assisting patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning.
  • Equipment Assistance: Assisting with the use of equipment and able to turn, reposition and move patients between: bedpans, wheelchairs, and walkers. Must be able to lift 50+lbs when needed.
  • Patient Comfort and Safety: Ensuring patients are comfortable, safe, and well-hydrated.
  • Communication with the Team: Keeping the nursing staff informed about changes in the patient's condition- mental or physical or any other concerns.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects. Attend training and meetings as required
  • Maintains awareness of current quality and safety measures on the unit and follows guidelines or reporting measures to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Knowledge and skills in quality improvement and research methodologies.
