About The Position
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is an essential member of the hospice care team who works under the supervisor of a Registered Nurse (RN) within Bluegrass Care Navigators’ Hospice Inpatient Units. This role provides personal care and support services to meet the patient’s daily needs, enhance comfort, and maintain a safe environment. The CNA is also responsible for observing the patient’s condition and accurately reporting and documenting observations and the services provided.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Currently registered as a State Nurse Aide with the Kentucky Board of Nursing.
- Completion of a recognized Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) training program.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, and accurately document care provided.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates empathy for individuals who are ill, frail, or impaired, and understands the philosophy of hospice care and the needs of the terminally ill.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience in a hospital or nursing home setting, preferred.
