About The Position

Good Shepherd Home Bethlehem is a 60-bed long-term care facility that offers intermediate, heavy, or skilled nursing care for persons with physical disabilities ages 18 years and older. We are looking for a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to join our family! The position enhances the effectiveness of the clinical team by collecting patient data, responding to resident/patient requests, providing personal care, and maintaining the clinical environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification required.
  • Basic Life Support / CPR certification as a healthcare provider per the American Heart Association required.
  • Previous rehabilitation or LTC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides patient care by prioritizing, planning and completing patient care as assigned.
  • Attends to personal care needs and assists with patient transfers and ambulation.
  • Obtains accurate vital signs and other clinical parameters and specimens including blood sugar readings, EKG's and drawn blood samples.
  • Responds to patient requests and requests RN or LPN supervision with new or unfamiliar tasks.
  • Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to patients and families.
  • Promotes customer service by greeting patients, visitors, and associates in person and on the telephone.
  • Communicates information by collecting and documenting in the patient record.
  • Documents resident/patient care services by recording information in the chart as soon as possible after collection.
  • Maintains patient confidence and organizational confidentiality by keeping information confidential.
  • Collects resident/patient information by operating patient care equipment according to policy and procedure.
  • Provides a safe and clean working environment by completing environmental rounds and applying infection control policies.
  • Supports unit efficiency by cleaning and restocking patient equipment.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by identifying own learning needs and attending educational workshops.
  • Contributes to organizational team effort by arriving on duty as scheduled and maintaining attendance.
