About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Direct Care Staff provides supportive care to medically fragile children in the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role assists with daily living activities, safety monitoring, basic clinical support, and maintaining a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment in accordance with Florida PPEC regulations.
Requirements
- Certified Nursing Assistant CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, or relevant pediatric care experience.
- Minimum one year experience caring for infants or toddlers.
- Current CPR certification.
- Successful background screening and TB clearance in accordance with state requirements.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under RN supervision.
Responsibilities
- Assist with feeding, hygiene, diapering, grooming, dressing, and positioning.
- Support safe mobility and comfort of children throughout the day.
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
- Support emergency response and infection control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including equipment and supplies.
- Assist with developmental and social stimulation activities as appropriate.
- Participate in required staff training, annual competencies, and meetings.
