The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant role at Bellevue Medical Center involves working on the 4th floor Medical Surgical - Orthopaedic unit, utilizing a Care Pair Model that pairs a nurse with a CNA to provide better care for patients and greater job satisfaction for colleagues. The unit cares for a variety of patients including those undergoing orthopaedic, oral-maxillofacial, plastics, general surgery, surgical oncology, and spinal surgery. The culture emphasizes support, teamwork, and positivity, with a focus on effective pain management and collaboration with physical therapists. The position offers both full-time and part-time shifts, specifically night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age required for CNA; Minimum of 18 years of age required for NA.
• Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska required for CNA.
• High school education or equivalent required for NA.
• Six months experience in patient care required for NA or must be enrolled in nursing program.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Direct patient care experience preferred for NA.

Responsibilities

• Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient’s plan of care.
