Be part of something extraordinary at Nebraska Medicine! Position Highlights: 6 Neuro is a 48 bed unit caring for medical surgical patients specializing in Neurology and Neurosurgery. Eight of our beds are equipped for long term EEG monitoring. Our specialized patient population includes: strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions. The complexity of 6 neuro patients makes for a great learning experience for nurses who are interested in the ICU. Our staff works closely with physician teams, PT/OT, SLP, and other disciplines of the healthcare team to give extraordinary care. We pride ourselves in teamwork and excellence on 6 Neuro. Shift Details: Nights Needed; Full time/Part time 7pm-730am Multiple positions available

Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age required.
  • Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska required.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA) upon completion of unit orientation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Direct patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of patient`s plan of care.
