Requirements

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Licensing Board certification or complete courses to become certified within 60 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to residents with their activities of daily living.
• Perform routine duties and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff.
• Assist patients with bathing and dressing needs, personal hygiene, transfers into and out of bed, repositioning, toileting needs, answering call lights, ensuring a clean environment.
• Document concise and factual information on the appropriate forms.
• Perform or assist residents in performing specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure to contribute to the patient's plan of care.
• Provide feedback to nursing staff immediately on status or changes in patient conditions, pain management, and other important concerns.
• Participate in providing emotional, educational and spiritual support for families.
• Comply with all aspects of resident rights including confidentiality and privacy.
• Report all allegations of resident abuse or misappropriation of resident property.
• Understand and follow established policy and procedures related to fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plan, universal precautions, infection control procedures, hazardous and chemical communication program.
• Mentor new employees and assist with their orientation.
• Lead, by example, following Freeman Regional Health Services CARE standards.
