About The Position

Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Health Unit Coordinator to join our Neurology team! The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) is a member of the patient care team and is responsible for assisting with providing patient care under the general direction of a Registered Nurse. The CNA works within the Professional Practice Model of Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The Health Unit Coordinator provides support in patient care areas to visitors, patients, and staff in a professional and caring manner.

Requirements

• Completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of a nursing assistant course.
• One year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care setting beneficial.
• Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry required.
• Knowledge of patient care standards and general office practices.
• Graduation from an accredited program for Health Unit Coordinators beneficial.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Two years' experience as a Health Unit Coordinator beneficial.
• Previous work experience in a post-acute care setting or nursing home beneficial.
