About The Position

Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT - HEALTH UNIT COORDINATOR to join our MED SURG INTERMEDIATE CARE team! The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Health Unit Coordinator functions in two roles as a service provider and a member of the multidisciplinary care team, responsible for providing care support and service tasks. As a Health Unit Coordinator, assists the professional and paraprofessional staff by performing clerical and receptionist duties.

Requirements

• Completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion of a nursing assistant course.
• Graduation from an accredited vocational technical adult education program for Health Unit Coordinators or an approved Health Unit Coordinator program.
• Two years' experience as a nursing assistant in outpatient services beneficial.
• Two years' experience as a Health Unit Coordinator beneficial.
• Prior listing on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry required with current registry recommended.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Courses in computer applications and medical terminology.
• Annual accrual of CEUs/continuing education requirements per Education Council recommendation for the given year.
• Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.

Responsibilities

• Provide care support and service tasks as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Assist professional and paraprofessional staff with clerical and receptionist duties.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
