About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Froedtert West Bend Hospital provides essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves assisting patients with basic nursing skills, personal care, and restorative services in a culturally sensitive manner. The CNA is responsible for ensuring patient safety and may be required to perform continuous observation. This position is integral to the healthcare team, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification required, or currently enrolled in a nursing program with documentation of successful completion of basic nursing courses.
• Minimum experience of one acute care medical/surgical clinical rotation required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with basic nursing skills and personal care tasks.
• Provide delegated age-appropriate care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Perform basic restorative services as outlined in clinical competency assessments.
• Conduct continuous safety observation of patients as required.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager or RNs on duty.
