About The Position

Requirements

• Completion of course for nursing assistants.
• Current Nursing Assistant Certification.
• BLS Certification.
• Minimum six months' experience in acute or long-term care facility.
• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area.
• Help patients with activities of daily living and provide personal care and emotional support.
• Perform complex clinical skills under the direction of professional nursing personnel.
• Consult with and keep supervisor informed of unit activities, needs, and problems related to patient care.
• Provide general nursing care such as positioning, lifting, turning, and applying special equipment.
• Assist in the use of bed pans, urinals, or commodes, and ambulate patients.
• Take and record vital signs and document them in a timely manner.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfers, ensuring cleanliness and comfort.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
• Respond to patient call lights and other communication systems appropriately.
• Perform routine treatment procedures such as enemas and application of heat and cold appliances.
• Assist Registered Nurse and/or LVN/LPN with complicated patient treatment procedures.
• Serve and remove patient meal trays in a timely manner and assist with feeding.
