Students from all backgrounds who are interested in gaining exposure to pediatric nursing careers, but do not already hold a Certified Nursing Assistant license, are encouraged to apply. Key Dates Application Open: March 4 – March 27, 2026 Interview Day: April 9, 2026 (10:00 AM – 1:00 PM) CNA Training (Highline College): June 22 – July 24, 2026 on-site at Highline’s main campus and Judson Park locations in South Seattle. Seattle Children’s Employment: October 2026 – April 2027 Program Benefits & Requirements Funding: Seattle Children’s covers tuition, books, and supplies for the Highline College CNA program. Commitment: 6 months of employment (Oct 2026 – April 2027) Note: Early withdrawal may require repayment of training costs. Onboarding & Orientation (Oct 26–Nov 15) 20 hours of combined virtual and in-person mandatory onboarding, followed by 72 hours of 8 or 12-hour shifts at the hospital with preceptors Orientation will be offered at an accelerated schedule of 0.6-0.9 FTE (24-36 hours/week) on day and night shift in a 2-3 week period. Program Duration: Upon completion of required onboarding & orientation, students will transition to a 0.3-0.4 FTE (12-16 hours/week) in Nov 2026 and begin 6 months of employment through April 2027. Students can meet their FTE by working 8 or 12 hour shifts; day, evening or night shifts offered. We will do our best to accommodate student academic schedules. Students will work in one of the following inpatient units: Medical, Surgical, ICU, Acute Care Float Pool, or Outpatient Cancer & Blood Disorders Center & Immunology How to Apply To be considered, you must complete the following by March 27, 2026: Online Application: Apply via the Seattle Children’s careers site. Candidates who accept an offer will receive an electronic copy of the Highline CNA Training Summer 1 application to complete and submit no later than Monday, May 25, 2026.
