The role of the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) is to work collaboratively with physicians, providers, nurses, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care with a focus on patient experience, safety, quality and efficiency. The CNA directly assists nurses with patient care, operating under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. The CNA acts as a patient care coordinator and advocate, monitors patient status, ensures proper documentation and an optimal patient flow and experience, following OSHA/WISHA/other compliance and regulatory guidelines.
