About The Position

Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our growing team. CNAs play a vital role in supporting clinic operations by assisting with patient examinations, documenting health information, and ensuring the smooth operation of clinical workflows.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current certification as a CNA in the state of Virginia.
  • Active BLS / CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA guidelines with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • All employees of Winchester Cardiology and Vascular Medicine P.C. are required to comply with company protocols regarding COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. This includes adherence to vaccination policies, safety measures, and any additional health protocols established to protect the well-being of patients, staff, and the community.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical office, clinic, or other healthcare setting.
  • Comfortable using EKG machines, sphygmomanometers, and basic clinical tools.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and escort them to examination rooms.
  • Prepare office notes/templates for upcoming patient appointments.
  • Accurately measure and document vital signs, including pulse, blood pressure, respirations, height, and weight, in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) following established protocols.
  • Conduct a brief review of interim health history relevant to the physician’s examination.
  • Notify the physician of any significant health changes, hospitalizations, or urgent concerns.
  • Retrieve and organize necessary reports, hospital records, or other documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Assists patients in completing required forms, such as health questionnaires and medical histories, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Inform the physician when the patient is ready for examination.
  • Provide assistance to physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.
  • Answer telephone calls and assist with patient inquiries within the scope of knowledge and practice guidelines.
  • Schedule patient appointments, tests, and referrals according to practice guidelines.
  • Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations to maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Monitor inventory levels, order, and restock clinical supplies to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination rooms.
  • Perform additional tasks or services as directed by the physician or administrator to support the team and ensure high-quality patient care.
