Clinicians on 3 West enjoy caring for a variety of disease processes that involve the following systems: Respiratory, Endocrine, Cardiac, Immune/Infectious Disease, and Renal. Certified Nursing Assistants assist with caring for patients, including psychiatric and rehabilitative patients. They administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothing, trimming fingernails, bed-making, and assisting with ambulation. They perform direct and indirect patient care activities according to established policies and procedures, observe and report changes in patient conditions, and maintain a safe and clean environment. Work is assigned at the task level and performed under direct supervision. Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization. Performs basic nursing skills as delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedure to promote patient health and wellness. Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care. Performs administrative support functions. Maintains necessary skills and competencies. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
  • Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to write legibly
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs
