About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care setting provides direct patient care and assists residents with daily living activities. The CNA works under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to ensure resident safety, comfort, and overall well-being.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Active CNA Certification (New Mexico required)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • New graduates welcome
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Basic knowledge of patient care and safety practices

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months to 1 year of CNA experience preferred (LTC or skilled nursing)

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
  • Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to nursing staff
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning of residents
  • Maintain hygiene and ensure a clean, safe environment
  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs
  • Support meal service and assist with feeding when required
  • Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner
  • Observe and report changes in physical or mental condition
  • Assist with toileting and incontinence care
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
