About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support a high-acuity Emergency Department through a float pool assignment. This role requires adaptability, strong clinical support skills, and the ability to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Active New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of patient care experience
  • At least 2 years of experience assisting with ADLs
  • Prior experience in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting (required)
  • Experience working as a patient safety companion (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of patient care practices and emergency support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong observational and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and ethical standards

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a patient safety companion (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, feeding, toileting, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
  • Accurately obtain, monitor, and document vital signs
  • Support nursing staff with patient care in an emergency department setting
  • Observe patients and promptly report any changes in condition
  • Serve as a safety companion for high-risk patients
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
  • Assist with patient transport, positioning, and mobility
  • Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Deliver compassionate care while preserving patient dignity and privacy
  • Adapt to rapidly changing patient needs in a dynamic environment
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
