Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of Nursing Assistant training program.
Six months or more experience as a Nursing Assistant or nursing technician.
Current District of Columbia Nursing Assistant License.
Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
Ability to perform basic nursing skills and maintain patient safety.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Organizational skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Perform basic nursing skills, including attending to personal hygiene and dietary needs of patients.
Safely and effectively use patient care equipment (e.g., pulse oximeter, sequential compression devices, monitors).
Establish and maintain effective work relationships with staff, physicians, hospital and university officials, and the public.
Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills; basic math proficiency.
Follow verbal and written directions in detail.
Work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer).
